Art, Alchemy and Healing

So what is the connection between art, alchemy and healing? There are many theories.
We can go from having a bad day, being stressed, overwhelmed etc...but once we switch gears and enter the  art-making "zone" something happens to uplift our spirits, help us focus on the positive or plain just channel those negative things into something meaningful. The idea behind alchemy is also transformation- taking base metal and turning it into gold. Not everything we make turns out the way we want, but the process of creating is the real gold. For more information on this subject, there are many great websites.
